This study aimed to examine and compare self-efficacy and life satisfaction among elderly individuals with hypertension residing in urban and rural areas. The study participants consisted of 157 elderly individuals with high blood pressure, and data were collected using questionnaires. Results revealed no statistically significant difference in self-efficacy (t=0.81, p=.418) or life satisfaction (t=-1.093, p=.276) between the urban and rural groups. However, across both settings, life satisfaction was found to positively correlate with self-efficacy levels (r=.433, p<.001). Self-efficacy showed a significant difference in based on the number of family members(F=-2.02, p=.044) among urban elderly people, and based on gender(t=-2.11, p=.038), education level(F=4.03, p=.002), number of family members(F=-4.01, p=.000) and monthly income(F=4.57, p=.001) among rural elderly people. Life satisfaction showed significant differences based on gender(t=6.26, p=.015) and the number of family members(F=-2.02, p=.044) in urban elderly people, and based on education level(F=4.03, p=.002) and family size(F=-4.01, p=.000), and monthly income(F=4.57, p=.001) in rural elderly people. Life satisfaction was found to increase in urban areas among elders with higher self-efficacy and those who were high school graduates(F=26.12, p<.001). In rural areas, life satisfaction was higher among younger elders and those with blood pressure at Class 2 hypertension levels (F=5.29, p=.007). Therefore, life satisfaction can be enhanced through tailored health management programs for older adults with high blood pressure.

본 연구는 도시와 농촌에 거주하는 고혈압 노인의 자기효능감과 삶의 만족도를 조사하고 비교하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 연구 참여자는 고혈압이 있는 노인 157명으로 구성되었으며, 설문지를 이용하여 데이터를 수집하 였다. 결과는 도시와 농촌 집단 사이의 자기효능감(t=0.81, p=.418)이나 삶의 만족도(t=-1.093, p=.276)에서 통계적 으로 유의한 차이가 없는 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 두 환경 모두에서 삶의 만족도는 자기효능감 수준과 양의 상관 관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다(r=.433, p<.001). 자기효능감은 도시노인은 가족수에 따라(F=-2.02, p=.044), 농촌노 인은 성별(t=-2.11, p=.038), 교육수준(F=4.03, p=.002), 가족수(F=-4.01, p=.000), 월소득(F=4.57, p=.001)에 따라, 삶의 만족도는 도시노인은 성별(t=6.26, p=.015)과 가족수(F=-2.02, p=.044)에 따라, 농촌노인은 교육수준(F=4.03, p=.002)과 가족규모(F=-4.01, p=.000) 그리고 월소득(F=4.57, p=.001)에 따라 유의한 차이가 나타났다. 삶의 만족 도는 도시지역은 자기효능감이 높을수록, 고등학교 졸업한 경우가(F=26.12, p<.001), 농촌 지역은 젊은 노인일수 록, 고혈압 2기인 경우 높아지는 것으로 나타났다(F=5.29, p=.007). 따라서 고혈압 노인을 위한 맞춤형 건강관리 프로그램을 통해 삶의 만족도를 높일 수 있다.
