The main purpose of this study is to analyze the actual competitiveness of the three major industries of Jeonbuk state using LQ and GRD analysis. The results of the analysis using the data from KOSIS from 2019 to 2022 are as follows. First, all of three major sectors had a high degree of industrial agglomeration in the Jeonbuk state with an LQ of at least 1.390 to a maximum of 2.021, and there were differences in the level of agglomeration depending on the industry. Second, as a result of the GRD analysis, the agricultural & bio-industry was identified as a potential industry, intelligent mechanical parts as a growth industry, and the carbon fusion composite material industry as a stagnation industry. Meanwhile, as a result of a comparative analysis between 17 cities and provinces, it was found that there were at least six competitive regions with positive growth potential. Third, according to cross-analysis between LQ and GRD analysis, an empirical analysis shows that a total of 16 sub-industries within the three major industries are consistently positioned as competitive advantage industries in the region. This study suggests that in order to strengthen industrial competitiveness in the Jeonbuk state, it is necessary to actively utilize the special cases, strengthen cooperation between regions, reestablish the value chain of the main industry, and differentiate strategies.

본 연구는 입지계수 및 지역성장률시차분석을 활용하여 전북특별자치도의 3대 주축산 업의 실질적 경쟁력을 분석하는 것을 주목적으로 한다. 2019~2022년, 통계청 전국사업체 조사 데이터를 활용하였으며 이에 대한 분석결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 3대 주축산업 모두 입지계수 최소 1.390 ~ 최대 2.021로 전북지역 내 산업집적도 가 높았으며, 산업에 따라 집적도 수준의 차이가 존재하였다. 둘째, 지역성장률시차분석 결과 농생명바이오는 ‘잠재산업’, 특수목적용지능형기계부 품은 ‘성장산업’, 탄소융복합소재산업은 ‘정체산업’으로 도출되었다. 한편, 전국 17개 시· 도간 비교분석 결과 최소 6개 이상의 긍정적 성장잠재력을 지닌 경쟁지역이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 입지계수와 성장률시차분석 간 교차분석 결과 3대 주축산업 내 세부 산업 중 총 16개가 지역에서 지속적인 경쟁우위 산업으로 입지를 다지고 있음을 확인하였다. 본 연구는 전북지역의 산업경쟁력 강화를 위해 특례제도의 적극 활용, 지역 간 연계협 력 강화, 주축산업 가치사슬 재정립 및 차별화 전략이 필요하다는 시사점을 제공한다.
