This study aims to analyze research trends in the field of medical humanities, explore new directions for medical humanities research, and investigate the development of educational approaches. To achieve this, the abstracts of 63 medical humanities-related papers published from 2000 to 2024 were analyzed using the topic modeling method, Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA). The analysis yielded six major topics: ‘patient-centered care’, ‘introduction of medical systems and humanities’, ‘medical ethics and narrative approach’, ‘disease experience and narrative approach’, ‘learning and discussion’, and ‘communication and integrated education’. The results of this study suggest that enhancing the humanities elements in medical humanities education and research, and applying the theories and practices of medical humanities in an integrative manner, is essential to establishing a foundation for holistic care that improves patients’ quality of life. At a time when the importance of medical humanities is increasingly emphasized, this study can serve as a basis for the development of practical educational programs and the expansion of research.

이 연구는 의료 인문학 분야의 연구 동향을 분석하여 의료 인문학 연구의 새로운 방 향을 모색하고 교육적 접근의 발전 방향을 탐구하는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위하여 2000 년부터 2024년까지 발표된 의료인문학 관련 논문 63편의 초록을 대상으로 토픽 모델링 LDA(Latent Dirichlet Allocation) 방법을 활용하여 분석하였다. 연구 결과, ‘환자중심 의료’, ‘의료 시스템 및 인문학 도입’, ‘의료윤리와 서사적 접근’, ‘질병 경험과 서사적 접 근’, ‘학습과 토론’, ‘의사소통과 통합 교육’의 여섯 개 토픽이 도출되었다. 이러한 결과는 의료인문학 교육과 연구에서 인문학적 요소를 강화하고, 융합적 관점에서 의료인문학 의 이론과 실천을 통합적으로 적용하여 환자의 삶의 질을 향상시키는 전인적 돌봄의 기반을 마련해야 함을 시사한다. 의료인문학의 중요성이 점점 더 강조되고 있는 현 시 점에서 본 연구는 실질적인 교육 프로그램 개발과 연구의 확장에 토대로 활용될 수 있 을 것이다.
