An Analysis of Adult Learners’ Experiences of Asynchronous Online English Course Using Concept Mapping
Concept Mapping
This study employs concept mapping to evaluate adult learners' experiences and the meaning of their experiences in an asynchronous online English course delivered via online class videos. Fourteen adult learners participated in the study. Through multidimensional scaling, research participants grouped their experiences into two dimensions, namely ‘teaching method’ and ‘learning style,' and then into 5 clusters: Cluster 1, ‘Usability for Exam Preparation,' Cluster 2, ‘Usefulness of Repetition in Learning,' Cluster 3, ‘Limitations of Online Class Videos,’ Cluster 4, ‘Students' Expectations of Instructors,’ and Cluster 5, ‘Convenience of Individual Learning.' Based on the study results, this study suggests ways to improve asynchronous online English courses for adult learners.

Ever since next generation convergence technology became one of the most important industries in the nation, computing professionals have encountered a growing number of challenges. Along with scholars and colleagues in related fields, they have gathered in avariety of forums and meetings over the last few decades to share their knowledge, experiences and the outcome of their research. These exchanges have led to the founding of the International Next-generation Convergence technology (INCA) on December 1, 2015. INCA was registered as an incorporated association under the Ministry of Information and Communications. The main purpose of the organization is to improve our society by achieving the highest capability possible in next generation convergence technology.
