Recently, as crime driven by peculiar motives continues to emerge in local communities, local governments are increasingly recognizing the necessity of securing public safety through physical security measures. This approach aims to prevent such crimes and mitigate citizens' fear of crime. The physical security industry has evolved from traditional sectors such as facility security, personal protection, and mechanical security, to an industry that now incorporates advanced technologies like AI, Big Data, Cloud computing, and IoT. Consequently, to create a safe environment for crime prevention services, this study seeks to establish a social safety net by developing advanced safety and security services through physical security-based safety diagnostics for Gwangju Metropolitan City. To achieve this objective, we selected a study area and conducted a safety diagnosis and risk assessment using physical security measures, utilizing multi-layer risk analysis (MLRA) techniques and focus group interviews. The results of the physical security-based risk assessment for Yongbong-dong revealed that the central and eastern areas were rated as good to very good, while the northwestern, western, and southern areas were deemed very risky. This highlighted the need to enhance the physical security system and implement various safety services. Subsequently, through brainstorming sessions and consultations with physical security experts involved in community crime prevention projects, we proposed the Yongbong-dong Safety Sheriff Patrol Route. It is anticipated that by applying the physical security system throughout Gwangju Metropolitan City, including the identified high-risk areas, we can build a safer city, enhance the quality of life for residents, and reduce the fear of crime.

최근 지역사회에서 이상 동기 범죄가 지속적으로 발생하고 있어 각 지자체에서는 이러 한 범죄를 예방하고, 시민들의 범죄 두려움을 감소시키기 위한 물리보안 기반 안전 확보의 필요성이 점차 증대되고 있다. 최근 물리보안 산업은 시설경비, 신변보호, 기계경비 등과 같은 전통적인 산업에서 새롭게 대두되고 있는 Ai, Big Data, Cloud, IoT 등 Tech 기반의 기술과 복합적으로 융합된 산업으로 발전하고 있는 현실이다. 따라서, 안전한 범죄예방 서 비스 환경 마련을 위해 광주광역시에 대한 물리보안 기반 안전진단을 통해 고도화된 안전 및 보안 서비스 창출을 바탕으로 사회 안전망을 확보하는 데 도움을 주고자 한다. 이를 위해 다층 위험 분석(MLRA) 기법과 포커스 그룹 인터뷰 등을 통해 연구대상 지역을 선정 해 해당 지역에 대한 물리보안 기반 안전진단과 위험 평가를 진행하였다. 물리보안 기반 위험 평가를 통해 용봉동을 파악한 결과 용봉동의 중앙 지역 및 동부 지역은 양호 및 매우 양호로 평가되나, 용봉동의 북서부 지역, 서부 지역, 남부 지역은 매우 위험이라는 결과가 도출되었다. 이에 물리보안 시스템 개선과 다양한 안전 서비스를 적용할 필요성이 대두되 어 지역사회 범죄예방을 위한 안전 서비스 사업에 참여했던 경험이 있는 물리보안 전문가 자문 및 브레인스토밍 과정을 거쳐 용봉동 안전 보안관 순찰로를 제안하였다. 이를 통해 향후 도출된 위험지역을 비롯한 광주광역시 전반에 대해 물리보안 체계를 적용시킨다면 지역 주민들의 삶의 질 향상 및 범죄 두려움 감소를 통해 안전한 도시를 구축할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.
