High-risk alcohol consumption among middle-aged men can have negative impacts not only on health but also on the family, workplace, and social groups to which individuals belong. It is necessary to understand the characteristics of high-risk alcohol consumption in middle-aged men and systematically manage it through risk factor assessment. In this study, using data from the 2017 Community Health Survey in Korea, we analyzed the drinking characteristics, demographic factors, health behaviors, mental health, and chronic disease characteristics of men aged 40-50. We used multivariate logistic regression analysis to identify factors influencing high-risk alcohol consumption in middle-aged men. The results showed that high-risk alcohol consumption among middle-aged men increased with higher age, education level, income, rural residence, physical worker, living alone, high-intensity physical activity, obesity, stress, depression, insufficient sleep, and presence of hypertension and diabetes. Therefore, there is a need to emphasize the importance of high-risk alcohol consumption prevention programs targeting middle-aged men and to develop comprehensive measures through the establishment of health programs linked to abstention efforts.

중년 남성의 고위험 음주는 건강 문제뿐만 아니라 개인이 속한 가족, 직장, 사회 집단에도 부정적인 영향 을 미칠 수 있으므로 중년 남성의 고위험 음주 특성에 대해 파악하고 위험 요인 평가를 통해 체계적으로 관리하 는 것이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 2017년 지역사회건강조사를 활용하여 우리나라의 40-50대의 중년 남성에서 음 주 특성, 인구·사회학적 특성, 건강행태, 정신건강, 만성질환 특성을 파악하고, 중년 남성의 고위험 음주에 영향을 미치는 요인을 확인하기 위해 복합표본 로지스틱 회귀분석을 사용하여 분석하였다. 연구 결과 중년 남성의 고위험 음주가 연령, 교육수준 및 월수입이 높고, 농촌거주, 기능단순노무직, 1인 가구, 고강도 신체활동, 비만, 스트레스, 우울감, 수면부족, 고혈압 및 당뇨병이 있는 경우에 증가하는 것으로 나타났다. 이에 따라 중년 남성을 대상으로 한 고위험 음주 예방 프로그램의 필요성을 강조하는 바이며, 더불어 금주 사업과 연계 가능한 보건프로그램 구축 을 통한 종합적인 대책이 필요하다.
