This study empirically explored how Arpina as a public youth hostel is perceived in the media by analyzing major keywords and topics contained in the articles based on media news about Arpina, the only public youth hostel in Busan. To analyze media news, articles were collected from January 1, 2018 to December 31, 2022 by searching for 'Arpina' on BIGKinds of the Korea Press Foundation. A total of 391 articles were collected, and among them, 150 articles containing keywords related to Arpina, a youth training facility, such as youth and accommodation, were selected. As a result of the analysis, it is necessary to proceed with the project and operate it faithfully to its essence as a youth hostel for youth, and the biggest issues are the relocation plan to the tourist complex and the benefits of development, and youth are the actual users. It was apparent that their opinions were not being considered. Based on the above research results, implications for the operation of Arpina as a public youth training facility were suggested.
