The purpose of this study is to examine the impact of college students' planned serendipity skills and career resilience on career preparation behavior and to analyze the moderated mediation of grit. The subjects of this study are 508 college students attending 4-year universities including Daegu and Gyeongbuk regions. To verify the model of this study, we randomly sampled college students attending a four-year university and conducted a survey online and offline. The survey period was from May to July 2023, and 508 cases were used for analysis. The main results of the study are as follows: First, as a result of examining the impact of college students' planned serendipity skills on career preparation behavior, planned serendipity skills were found to have a significant impact on career preparation behavior. In other words, the higher the level of planned serendipity skills of college students, the higher the level of career preparation behavior. Second, as a result of examining the impact of college students' career elasticity on career preparation behavior, it was found that college students' career elasticity had a significant impact on career preparation behavior. In other words, the higher the career elasticity of college students, the higher the level of career preparation behavior. Third, as a result of analyzing the mediating effect of career elasticity in the relationship between planned contingency skills and career preparation behavior of college students, it was found that career elasticity perceived by college students had a significant effect on the relationship between planned contingency skills and career preparation behavior. In other words, it can be seen that planned contingency technology has a direct effect on career preparation behavior, but also has an indirect effect through career elasticity. Therefore, it can be seen that career elasticity plays an important role as a mediating variable in the relationship between planned contingency skills and career preparation behavior.
