The purpose of this study is to propose ways to improve the space of the National Youth Healing Center through interviews with experts, namely the operators of the National Youth Healing Center. For this, six space planning procedures and items were established, including planning of location, layout, space program, operation, facility utilization, and community. The results showed that location planning is necessary to consider regional characteristics, site access conditions, public transportation, and pedestrian accessibility. Layout planning must examine the connectivity with surrounding facilities, the landscape, and the flow of external traffic. Space program planning, divided into communal living facilities, educational activities facilities, professional treatment facilities, relaxation facilities, and operational support facilities, should identify room size, function, equipment, circulation, and demand for common use space. Operation program planning must design demand-based operations programs, associate them with the space programs, and reflect the requirements of the times. Facility utilization planning should consider safety and convenience by preventing the need for emergency rescues; this will include items such as safety windows, handrails, screens, and fences. In addition it should include a review of spatial variability by maximizing the requirement for spatial efficiency. Community planning must perform its organization role in consideration of the regional base space of the external and public space. Overall results are expected to serve as a plan to improve the space when the National Youth Healing Center is built in the future.
