Entrepreneurshipprovidesafoundationforgrowthandleapforwardthatcanfosterinnovativetalentthatcan createjobsanddiscovernewbusinessesandnewtechnologies.Thisstudycanbeusedasdatafor entrepreneurship-relatedorganizationstorevitalizestartupsbyempiricallyanalyzingentrepreneurial motivation, entrepreneurial intention,andpreferredstartuptypesaccordingtotheregulatoryfocusofcollegestudentswho areprospectiveentrepreneurs.Asaresultofthisstudy,firstly,collegestudentswithastrongpromotionfocus tendencyshowedhigherlevelsinallaspectsofeconomicstart-upmotivation,non-economicstart-upmotivation, andstart-upintentionthancollegestudentswithastrongdefensefocustendency.Second,collegestudentswith a strongpromotionfocusshowedahigherlevelofpreferenceforindependentandsocialenterprisesthan defensefocus,whiletheyshowedahigherpreferenceforfranchiseswithastrongdefensefocus.Thiscan serveasafoundationforrevitalizingentrepreneurshipbyfurthernurturingcollegestudentswitha promotion-focusedtendency,andbyfocusingonentrepreneurshipeducationprogramsforindependentand socialenterprisestartuptypesforcollegestudentswithapromotion-focus,andfranchiseentrepreneurship educationprogramsforcollegestudentswithadefense-focus.
