This study examined the trend of research, focusing on academic papers related to psychological warfare against North Korea studied from 2000 to 2023. As a result of examining the current status by year, field, and research method, we could feel the lack of papers related to psychological warfare against North Korea, and the lack of research was also small only during the period when inter-Korean relations were strained. In addition, the research field is also limited to policy proposals and psychological warfare media, confirming the need to expand to more diverse fields considering the changing psychological warfare environment. In terms of the last research method, most of them were literature studies, so the need for quantitative research using interviews, surveys, and big data was also found. It is hoped that the analysis results of this paper will play a positive role in setting the direction of future research on the psychological warfare against North Korea, which is still underway.

본 연구는 2000년부터 2023년까지 연구된 대북심리전 관련 학술논문을 중심으로 연구의 경향을 살펴보았다. 연 도별, 분야별, 연구 방법별 현황을 살펴본 결과 대북심리전 관련 논문의 부족한 현실을 체감할 수 있었고 그나마 부 족한 연구 또한 남북관계가 경색되어 대북심리전이 전개되던 시기에만 미약하게 이루어졌다. 뿐만 아니라 연구 분야 또한 정책제안과 심리전 매체로 한정되어 있어 변화하는 심리전 환경을 고려할 때 더욱 다양한 분야로 확대될 필요 성을 확인했다. 마지막 연구방법면에서는 문헌연구가 대부분이어서 면접, 설문, 빅데이터 등을 활용한 양적연구 등의 필요성도 알 수 있었다. 이러한 본 논문의 분석결과가 현재도 여전히 진행중인 대북심리전에 대한 향후 연구방향설정 에 긍정적인 역할을 하길 기대한다.
