The purpose of this study is to expand the practical applicability of sport philosophy counseling by presenting counseling cases using philosophical thought experiments. The case study dealt with here is based on sport philosophy counseling conducted with a client who suffered from anxiety and depression after retiring as an athlete. Through this case, how sport philosophy counseling is applied, what role it plays, and how it helped clients were presented. In this case, the 'philosophical thought experiment' played an important role in the process of solving the client's problem. In particular, the philosophical dialogue embodied from Schopenhauer's thought brought about effective results. In other words, the thought experiment embodied from Schopenhauer's thought allowed her to know the reality of what she was obsessed with in life. This study derived the usefulness and practical application possibility of sport philosophy counseling. The results of this study can be used as basic data for practical application of sport philosophy counseling.

본 연구의 목적은 철학적 사고실험을 이용한 상담사례를 제시하여 스 포츠철학상담의 실제적 적용 가능성을 확장하는 데 있다. 여기서 다루는 사례연구는 선수생활 은퇴 후 진로고민에 의해 불안과 우울감에 빠진 내담자와 수행한 스포츠철학상담을 토대로 한 것이다. 이 사례를 통하여 스포츠철학상담이 어떻게 적용되며, 어떤 역할을 하는지, 내담자에게 어 떻게 도움을 주었는지 제시하였다. 본 사례의 경우 내담자의 문제를 해 결하는 과정에서 ‘철학적 사고실험’이 중요한 역할을 하였다. 특히 쇼 펜하우어 사상으로부터 구현한 철학적 대화는 효과적인 결과를 가져왔 다. 즉 쇼펜하우어 사상으로부터 구현한 사고실험은 그녀가 삶에 있어 집착하는 것의 실체를 알게 해 주었다. 본 연구의 결과는 스포츠철학상 담의 유용성과 실제적 활용 가능성을 도출하였으며, 이를 통해 스포츠철 학상담의 실제적 활용방안의 기반이 되는 기초자료로 활용되기를 기대 한다.
