In this study, we evaluated the antioxidant capacity of Papaver rhoeas extract and measured its anti-inflammatory activity against fine dust-induced inflammation. First, the antioxidant capacity was measured, and the EC50 of DPPH redical scavenging activity was 98.03 μg/mL, and the EC50 of ABTS redical scavenging activity was 104.71 mg/mL. Total phenoloic contents and total flavonoid contents were 34.66±0.12 mg gallic acid/g extract and 24.63±0.97 mg quercetin/g extract, respectively. Then, to determine the anti-inflammatory activity against fine dust inflammation, cell experiments were conducted using Raw 264.7. In the anti-inflammatory activity measurement, the cytotoxicity did not show cytotoxicity in the range of 12.5-100 μg/mL, and the 100 μg/mL treatment of P. rhoeas extract in the PM2.5 10 μg/mL condition showed an inhibition of NO production of 16.22±1.15%, PM10 (PAHs) 100 μg/mL condition of 54.77±2.29%, and PM10 (metal) 100 μg/mL condition of 47.38±2.90%. Based on the experimental results related to antioxidants and inflammation caused by fine dust, it was confirmed that P. rhoeas extract can inhibit the inflammatory response caused by fine dust, and based on this, it is thought that it is possible to develop ingredients to prevent inflammation caused by fine dust.

본 연구는 Papaver rhoeas (P. rhoeas)추출물의 항산화능을 평가하고, 이를 바탕으로 미세먼지로 유도 된 염증에 대해 항염 활성 측정을 진행하였다. 먼저 항산화능의 측정을 진행하였으며 DPPH redical 소거능 측정 에서 EC50은 98.03 μg/mL로 나타났으며, ABTS redical 소거능 측정에서 EC50은 104.71 mg/mL으로 나타났다. Total phenoloic contents와 total flavonoid contents는 각각 34.66±0.12 mg gallic acid/g extract, 24.63±0.97 mg quercetin/g extract으로 나타났다. 그 후 미세먼지 염증에 대한 항염 활성을 알아보기 위해서 Raw 264.7을 이용 한 세포실험을 진행하였다. 항염 활성 측정에서 세포 독성은 12.5-100 μg/mL의 구간에서 세포독성을 나타내지 않았 으며, PM2.5 10 μg/mL 조건에서 P. rhoeas 추출물을 100 μg/mL 처리한 결과 16.22±1.15%, PM10 (PAHs) 100 μ g/mL 조건에서 54.77±2.29%, PM10 (metal) 100 μg/mL 조건에서 47.38±2.90%의 NO 생성 억제 효과를 나타내 었다. 항산화와 미세먼지에 의한 염증에 관련된 실험 결과를 바탕으로 P. rhoeas 추출물은 미세먼지에 의한 염증 반응을 억제할 수 있음을 확인하였으며, 이를 바탕으로 미세먼지에 의한 염증을 방지하는 원료의 개발이 가능할 것으로 생각된다.
