- The purpose of this study was to investigate the plan for Curriculum Slimming in Practical Arts . This study examined: 1) the concept of curriculum slimming; and 2) the plan through instruction material slimming; and 3) the plan through integrated contents.The major recommendations of the study were as follows；1) It is necessary to balance between breadth and depth of contents in practical arts curriculum. 2) It is necessary to reduce the amount of contents of the textbooks and make easier the contents. 3) It is necessary to reorganize the contents of the textbooks by teachers. when they reorganized contents, they must be use such types of content reorganization as changing the sequence of contents, adding contents, condensing contents, omitting contents, replacing contents with those outside the textbook and teacher's guide book,

- 본 학회는 처음 실과 교과서에 참여한 인사를 중심으로 1989년 실과 교육 연구회로 발족하였다가 1990년에 전국 규모의 회원을 갖고 학회 활동을 본격적으로 시작하였다. 본 학회는 한국의 실과 교육의 학문적 연구 및 현장 교육의 문제를 개선하는데 기여할 목적으로 설립되었고, 현재는 전국의 관련대학의 교수와 현장 교사가 참여하여 실과의 학문적 기초를 마련하는데 기여하고 있고, 현장의 문제해결에도 기여하면서 발전하고 있다.
