This study aims to analyze research trends on elementary multicultural education programs published in domestic journals from 2008 to 2021, and to provide base material for future directions of elementary multicultural education programs based on the analysis results. To achieve these research purposes, four types of research contents were established, and data was collected through data searches in databases of the Korea Educational Research Information Service. As a result, 96 papers were used as subjects for final analysis. Research conclusions are as follows. First, analysis results of research trends by year for 96 papers on elementary multicultural education programs from the years 2008 to 2021 showed that research was conducted most in years 2012, 2015, and 2018, in that order. Second, research trend analysis results by research topic showed that research was conducted most on elementary multicultural education programs, multicultural art education programs, dietary and medical life multicultural education programs, and multicultural human rights education programs, in that order, and with research purpose, research was conducted most for impact, effect, development, and application, in that order. Third, research trend analysis results showed that the highest number of research subjects were students, literature, and teachers, in that order, and teaching areas were mostly in society, practical courses, and Korean language, in that order. Fourth, analysis on research trends by data collection method showed that the most used methods were questionnaires, literature data, and questionnaires, in that order, and the most used research types were quantitative research, analysis research, and qualitative research, in that order.

이 연구의 목적은 2008년에서 2021년까지 국내 학술지에 게재된 초등 다문화교육 프로그램에 대한 연구 동향을 분석하는 것이며, 분석 결과를 바탕으로 향후 초등 다문 화교육 프로그램 연구의 방향에 대한 기초자료를 제공하고자 한다. 이러한 연구목적을 달성하기 위하여 연구내용을 네 가지로 설정하였으며, 한국교육학술정보원 데이터베 이스의 자료검색을 통해 자료를 수집하였다. 최종 분석 대상 논문은 96편이었으며, 분 석 기준으로는 게재 연도, 연구주제 및 목적, 연구대상 및 교수영역, 연구방법 등을 설 정하였다. 문헌 분석연구의 일환으로 엑셀 프로그램을 활용하여 빈도분석 및 교차분석 을 수행하였으며, 구체적인 연구결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 2008년-2021년 초등 다문화교육 프로그램에 대한 96편 논문에 대한 게재 연도 별 연구 동향 분석 결과에서는 2012년(11편), 2015년 및 2018년(각 10편) 등의 순이었 다. 둘째, 연구주제별로는 일반 초등 다문화교육 프로그램, 다문화 미술교육 프로그램, 식생활 및 의생활 다문화교육 프로그램 등의 순이었으며, 연구목적별로는 영향 및 효 과, 개발, 개발 및 적용 등의 순이었다. 셋째, 연구대상별로는 학생, 문헌, 교사 등의 순 이었으며, 교수영역별로는 사회, 실과, 국어 등의 순이었다. 넷째, 자료수집 방법별에 서는 설문지, 문헌자료, 질문지 등의 순이었으며, 연구형태별로는 양적 연구, 분석 연 구, 질적 연구 등의 순이었다. 이상에서 볼 때, 향후 연구에서는 초등 다문화교육 프로 그램에 대한 연구주제, 연구목적, 연구형태 등을 다양화하여 연구를 수행할 필요가 있 을 것이다.
