By its nature it is not easy to guarantee confidentiality in school counseling. That is the reason why dual or multiple relationships are inevitable in school counseling. It is necessary to respect parents’ right to disclose information because student client is a minor, and school counselor is obligated to report counseling contents according to the school management system. Maintaining this awareness of the problem, this study delved into the research trends of counseling ethics and the ethical issues of school counseling, focusing on the aspect of the moral studies teacher as counselor. The order of our discussion run as follows. Firstly, the research trends of counseling ethics in Korea and the ethical issues in school counseling were reviewed. Next, after discussing the academic background and qualifications of the moral studies teachers as counselors in school counseling, this research dealt with the counseling ethical issues about confidentiality and presented informed consent as a solution in terms of ethical counseling, that is, counseling practices of the moral studies teachers.

학교상담은 그 특성상 비밀보장이 쉽지 않다. 이는 학교상담에서 이 중 혹은 다중관계가 불가피하며, 학생내담자가 미성년자이므로 부모의 정보공개 내지 알 권리에 대한 존중도 필요하며, 학교상담자는 학교 교직원의 일원으로서 학교의 관리체계에 따라 상담내용을 보고해야 할 의무도 지니기 때문이다. 이러한 문제의식을 견지하면서 본 연구는 상 담윤리의 연구동향과 학교상담의 윤리적 쟁점을 도덕과 교사의 상담가 적 측면을 중심으로 논구한다. 이를 위해 먼저, 국내 상담윤리의 연구 동향 및 학교상담의 윤리적 쟁점을 다룬다. 다음으로 학교상담에서 상 담가로서의 도덕과 교사의 학문적 배경과 자질을 논의한 후, 도덕과 교사의 상담실천으로서 윤리상담의 주요 쟁점인 비밀보장 문제와 해소 방안으로서의 사전동의를 중심으로 상담윤리적 쟁점을 해명하였다.
