This study aimed to identify the effect of harm avoidance on suicidal ideation in university students and to examine the mediation effects of obsessive compulsive tendencies and cognitive emotional regulation strategy. A total of 352 university students (147 male, 205 female) in Busan completed self-report questionnaires, including the Temperament and Character Inventory-Revised Short(TCI-RS), Padua Inventory-Washington State University Revision(PI-WSUR), Cognitive Emotion Regulation Questionnaire(CERQ), Suicidal Ideation Questionnaire(SIQ). The results of this study were as follows. First, significantly positive correlations were found among harm avoidance, obsessive compulsive tendencies, suicidal ideation and maladaptive cognitive emotion regulation strategy. Second, obsessive compulsive tendencies and adaptive cognitive emotional regulation strategy showed a serial mediation effect on the relationship between harm avoidance and suicidal ideation. Third, obsessive compulsive tendencies and maladaptive cognitive emotion regulation strategy also displayed a dual mediation effect on the relationship between harm avoidance and suicidal ideation. The present study could provide the foundation of preventive intervention for those with suicidal ideation and harm avoidance by regulating cognitive emotion strategy.

본 연구의 목적은 대학생의 위험회피 기질이 자살사고에 미치는 영향을 살펴보고, 강박증상과 인지적 정서 조절전략이 위험회피 기질과 자살사고의 관계에서 매개변인의 역할을 하는지를 검증하는데 있다. 본 연구 에는 부산 소재의 대학에 재학 중인 대학생 393명이 참여하였고, 불성실하게 응답한 41명의 자료를 제외한 총 352명(남성=147, 여성=205)의 자료가 최종분석 자료로 사용되었다. 설문은 기질 및 성격검사(TCI-RS), Padua 강박척도-워싱턴 주립대학 개정판(PI-WSUR), 인지적 정서조절전략(CERQ), 자살사고 척도(SIQ)로 구성 되었고, SPSS 25.0를 사용하여 매개효과를 알아보았다. 연구결과 첫째, 위험회피 기질, 강박증상, 자살사고, 부적응적 인지적 정서조절전략은 유의미한 정적상관을 나타냈다. 둘째, 위험회피 기질과 자살사고의 관계 에서 강박증상과 적응적 인지적 정서조절전략의 매개효과는 유의미한 것으로 나타났으며, 셋째, 위험회피 기질과 자살사고의 관계에서 강박증상과 부적응적 인지적 정서조절전략의 매개효과 또한 유의미한 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 위험회피 기질과 자살사고 간의 관계에 대한 강박증상과 인지적 정서조절전략의 이중 매개효과를 알아봄으로써 인지적 정서조절전략에 대한 구체적인 개입의 근거자료를 제공했다는 점에서 의의가 있다.
