The airport railway connects the airport to downtown Seoul. Because it connects the airport with downtown Seoul, it plays an important role in shaping the Korean image of tourists from overseas. In this respect, the Airport Railroad plays a role as a stepping stone in the vanguard of Korean tourism. Therefore, this study requires research on the quality of airport railway services to revitalize the tourism industry in Korea. That is, the quality of service for the airport rail should be identified and the problems should be improved. This study distinguishes the quality of service of the airport railway into physical and human quality of service. This study compared airport railways abroad with airport railways in Korea. As a result of the analysis, it was confirmed that Korea's airport railways have problems in terms of accessibility and transfer distance. Accordingly, this study intends to present the following findings: First, diversification of services should be pursued as well as identification of airport users' preferences. Second, price competition should be possible. Third, improve the inconvenience of transferring. Finally, the implementation of the integrated fare system should promote convenience of transfer and public transportation activation.

공항철도는 공항과 서울 도심으로 이어주는 노선이다. 공항과 서울 도심을 연결하기 때문에 해외로부터 온 관광객들의 한국 이미지 형성에 중요한 역할을 한다. 이런 측면에서 공항철도는 한국 관광의 선봉에 있는 첨병과 같은 역할을 한다. 따라서 본 연구는 우리나라 관광산업 활성화를 위해 공항철도 서비스 품질에 대한 연구가 필요하다. 즉, 공항철도의 서비스 품질에 대해서 파악하고 문제점을 개선해야 한다. 본 연구는 공항철도의 서비스 품질을 물리적 품질과 인적 서비스 품질로 구분하여 연구하였다. 본 연구는 해외의 공항철도와 우리나라의 공항철도를 비교하였 다. 분석결과, 우리나라 공항철도는 접근성과 환승거리 측면에서 문제가 있음을 확인하였다. 이에 따라 본 연구는 다음과 같은 연구결과를 제시하고자 한다. 첫째, 공항 이용객들의 선호파악뿐만 아니라 서비스의 다양화를 추구해야 한다. 둘째, 가격 경쟁이 가능해야 한다. 셋째, 환승의 불편함을 개선해야 한다. 마지막으로 통 합요금제의 시행으로 환승편의성과 대중교통활성화를 증진해야 한다.
