This thesis aimed to seek for the tasks necessary for the promotion of regional international cultural exchange focusing on the case of Gyeongsangnam-do. For this, this thesis collected and comparatively analyzed various data such as Gyeongsangnam-do international cultural exchange business plan, press release of regional newspaper with public trust, online survey, and untact interview. As a result, the international cultural exchange in the regional level could be analyzed as inter-regional cooperative/exchange project, and internationalization & localization project for regional cultural resources. As the tasks for the vitalizations of region-centered international cultural exchange, this thesis suggested the establishment of mid/long-term plan for international cultural exchange by regional subjects, support of international cultural exchange and cultivation of regional specialized manpower in private sector, and vitalizations and specialization of international cultural exchange using regional resources.

본 논문은 경남도의 사례를 중심으로 지역의 국제문화교류 진흥을 위해 필요한 과제 들을 모색해 보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 경남도 국제문화교류 사업 계획서 분석, 공신력 있는 지역신문 보도자료 분석, 온라인조사, 비대면 인터뷰 등 다양한 자료를 수집하여 비교 분석하였다. 그 결과 지역 차원의 국제문화교류는 지역 간 협력 및 교류사업, 지 역 문화자원의 국제화 및 지역화 사업으로 분석될 수 있었다. 이를 통해 지역 중심의 국제문화교류 활성화를 위한 과제로서 지역 주체의 국제문화교류 중장기 계획 수립, 민간 영역 국제문화교류 지원과 지역의 전문 인력 양성, 지역 자원을 활용한 국제문화 교류 다양화 및 특성화를 제언하였다.
