This study attempted to identify multiple conditions of 100 elderly people living in long-term care hospitals in Suwon and Uiwang, such as problem behavior, depression, functionality, ADL, dementia level, gender, and age group and the effect they have on nursing care and use the recognized effect it as a basic data for developing programs to help the elderly with dementia. The results of this study are summarized as follows. First, the factors that affect the difficulty of caregivers who care for the elderly with dementia in long-term care hospitals showed that nervousness and nerve symptoms were important variables among the problematic behaviors of the elderly with dementia. Second, the degree of functionality and ADL of the elderly with dementia have been shown to be variables that affect problem behavior. Third, dementia elderly people with depression have no impact on the difficulty of caregivers. Through this study, we will develop a program to effectively care and treat dementia elderly people who enter long-term care hospitals, identify the difficulty caregivers face, and use it as a basic data to improve their understanding of future problem behaviors caused by dementia.

본 연구는 수원시와 의왕시에 있는 요양병원에 거주하는 치매노인 100명을 대상으로 치매노인의 문제행동, 우울, 기능정도, ADL, 치매정도, 성별, 연령대 등이 간호를 제공하는 간호제공자의 힘든정도에 미치는 영향을 파악하여, 치매노인의 치료 및 간호제공자에게 도움이 되는 프로그램 개발의 기초자료로 활용하고자 시도하였 다. 본 연구결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 요양병원에서 치매노인을 케어하는 간호제공자의 힘든정도에 영향을 미치는 요인으로는 치매노인 대상자의 문제행동 중 초조성과 신경증상이 중요한 변인으로 나타났다. 둘 째, 치매노인 대상자의 기능정도와 ADL은 문제행동에 영향을 미치는 변인으로 나타났다. 셋째, 우울증세가 있는 치매노인들은 간호제공자의 힘든정도에는 영향관계가 없는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구를 통해 요양병원에 입소 한 치매노인들을 효과적으로 케어 및 치료하도록 프로그램을 개발하고 간호제공자들이 느끼는 힘든정도를 파악 하여 향후 치매로 인한 문제행동에 대한 이해 증진과 간호제공자들의 대처방안 등을 마련하는데 기초 자료로 활용하고자 한다.
