This study aims to provide basic data on the operation of public sports facilities by assessing how effectively services are supplied to consumers in public sports facilities and exploring service quality determinants that satisfy consumers. For the research, an open questionnaire was produced by conducting a preliminary research review and a group of experts (two PhDs in business administration and one expert in sports facilities), which included basic background questions for the study subjects and factors for evaluating the quality of public sports facilities. The subjects of the study visited seven public sports facilities from September to December 2018 and distributed questionnaires to 270 adults who registered and used them for more than a month. The data analysis was based on the responses of open questionnaires, calculated the frequency of the topics derived and the frequency of the responses according to the analysis level, and conducted inductive content analysis to explore the determinant of quality of service in public sports facilities. An inductive analysis of responses to 339 public sports facility service quality determinants through open questionnaires has been categorized into four general areas: physical services, empirical services, social services and information services. Looking at the response rate to categorized topics, physical services (46.9%), empirical services (34.3%), information services (11.2%), and social services (7.6%).

본 연구는 공공스포츠 시설에서 서비스가 얼마나 효과적으로 소비자에게 공급되고 있는지 수요자 중심에서 평가 하고, 소비자를 만족시킬 수 있는 서비스 질의 결정요인을 탐색하여 공공스포츠 시설의 운영에 필요한 기초자료를 제공하 고자 한다. 연구를 위해 선행연구 고찰과 전문가 집단(경영학 전공 박사 2명, 스포츠 시설 전문가 1명)회의를 실시하여 개방형 설문지를 제작하였으며, 개방형 설문지에는 공공스포츠 시설의 서비스 질을 평가하기 위한 고려 요인과 연구대상 자들에 대한 기초배경 문항을 포함하였다. 연구의 대상은 2018년 9월부터 12월까지 공공스포츠 시설 7개소를 직접 방문 하여 1개월 이상 등록하여 이용하고 있는 성인 270명에게 설문지를 배포하여 진행하였다. 자료 분석은 개방형 설문지의 반응을 토대로 내용을 분석하고 여기에서 도출된 주제의 빈도와 분석수준에 따른 주제별 반응의 빈도를 산출하였고, 공공 스포츠 시설의 서비스 질 결정요인을 탐색하기 위해 귀납적 내용분석을 실시하였다. 개방형 설문지를 통하여 공공스포츠 시설 서비스 질의 결정요인 339건에 대한 반응을 귀납적으로 분석한 결과, 물리적 서비스, 경험적 서비스, 사회적 서비스, 정보적 서비스의 4개 일반영역으로 범주화되었다. 범주화된 주제에 대한 반응 비율을 살펴보면 물리적 서비스(46.9%), 경험적 서비스(34.3%), 정보적 서비스(11.2%), 사회적 서비스(7.6%)순으로 나타났다.
