This paper verifies the effectiveness of PBL lessons by applying PBL (Project-Based Learning) to Japanese lessons and by conducting a survey about learners’ satisfaction. PBL is a student󰠏centered learning method based on products where a learner makes plans and searches for a solution to solve a project, and recent cases where it is applied to Japanese lessons are currently being reported. In this paper, a survey about learners’ satisfaction with project activities, etc. was conducted after applying interview group activities to a class of students on different learning levels. According to the result of the survey, most of them were more than satisfied with the interview group activities. The students answered that they were more than satisfied also in terms of how helpful the project activities were in keeping them interested in and learning Japanese, whereas only a normal degree of satisfaction with the entire lesson including the project activities and agreement on the necessity of project activities afterwards were indicated in the result. This result demonstrates that applying PBL to lessons has a positive influence on learners’ satisfaction. The influence of PBL lessons on academic achievement, however, is not assessed or considered in this paper. Therefore, a further study will be conducted on this matter.

본고는 일본어 수업에 PBL(Project􋹲Based Learning)을 적용하고 학습자의 만족 도를 조사하여 PBL수업의 효과를 검증하였다. PBL은 프로젝트를 기반으로 학습 자가 스스로 프로젝트를 해결하기 위해 계획을 세우고, 문제해결을 위한 방안을 모색하는 학생 중심 학습 방법으로, 최근 일본어 수업에도 적용 사례가 보고되고 있다. 본고에서는 학습자의 학습 수준이 다양한 교실에 인터뷰 그룹 활동을 적용 하여 프로젝트 활동에 관한 만족도를 조사하였다. 그 결과 인터뷰 그룹 활동 만 족도 결과는 대부분 만족 이상의 결과가 나타났다. 프로젝트 활동이 일본어의 관 심과 학습에 도움이 되었는가 또한 만족 이상의 결과를 보였으며, 프로젝트 활동 으로 인한 수업 전체의 만족도 및 금후 프로젝트 활동의 필요성에 대해서는 보통 수준의 결과를 보였다. 이상의 결과를 통해 PBL을 적용한 수업은 만족도에 긍정 적인 영향을 미치고 있음을 확인할 수 있다. 다만, 이번 보고에서는 PBL 수업이 학습 성취도에 미치는 영향에 대해 구체적인 검증을 못하였다. 금후 PBL 수업이 학습 성취도 향상에 미치는 영향에 대해 연구를 진행하고자 한다.
