The aim of this study was to examine the level of writing for university freshmen, and to propose a book review writing class model based on learner identification in order to strengthen university culture education. We have long understood that writing education can also be developed in depth, based on both the curriculum and the connection of the learners. In particular, it is important to understand the writing experience and the level of college freshmen, who just graduated from secondary education institutions and entered higher education institutions. The field of writing noted in this paper was “book review” writing. Book review writing is a genre that is widely regarded as valid for developing critical thinking skills in universities, and furthermore, it has proven to be advantageous in ensuring the connectivity between writing and education. In order to understand the students' experience and level of awareness, this paper analyzed the S University Writing class cases and surveys. As a result of the analysis, this paper emphasized the need for ‘Co-Duction’ to expand the efficiency of book review education and to strengthen the weaker areas among the learners. ‘Co-Duction’ is a kind of debate that enables critical reading and makes self-reliant opinions sound. Through this course, students will be able to compare their personal experiences and views with other readers, thus allowing them to form and sharpen their critical attitudes. Therefore, we are going to introduce available book review teaching methods to increase the efficiency in actual book review classes.

이 논문의 목적은 대학 교양 교육 강화를 위해 대학교 신입생 글쓰기 수준을 점검하고 학습자 파악을 바탕으로 한 서평 쓰기 수업 모형을 제안하는 데에 있다. 본고에서는 글쓰기 교육 역시 교육 과정 및 학습자의 연계성을 바탕으로 심화 발전할 수 있다고 보고, 특히 중등교육기관을 졸업하고 막 고등교육 기관으로 진입한 대학 신입생들의 글쓰기 경험과 수준을 파악하는데 주력하였다. 이 논문에서 주목한 글쓰기 분야는 서평 쓰기로서 이는 대학에서의 비판적 사고력을 기르는데 유효한 장르 중심 글쓰기의 하나이며 나아가 글쓰기 교육의 연계성을 담보하기 유리한 점에서 논의의 가치가 있다. 독서 교육 및 작문 교육이라는 공통 분모를 가진 독후감상문과 서평 경험 및 인식 수준을 파악하기 위해서 본고에서 는 S대학 글쓰기 수업 사례 및 설문 조사를 바탕으로 삼았다. 분석 결과 본고에서는 서평 교육의 효율성을 확대하고 학습자의 취약한 부분을 강화하기 위해서 ‘공동-추론’ 과정을 강조하였다. 이는 비판적 독서 및 주체적 의견 발화를 강조한 토론의 하나로서 이 과정을 통해 학생들은 자신의 개인적인 경험과 견해를 다른 독자들과 공유하거나 비교해봄으로써 비판적인 태도를 형성할 수 있다. 이러한 방안을 중심으로 활용가능한 교안을 소개함으로써 실제 서평 수업에서의 효율성을 제고하는 것이 본 논문의 목표이다.
