This study was conducted to reflect the educational needs of college students, who play a most crucial role when it comes to conducting university writing education. By eliciting the types of learning required for writing education, and surveying and analyzing the educational needs by type, we were able to derive the factors needed for conducting future courses in writing education. To this end, a questionnaire was produced for the study type, along with a questionnaire for the survey of the educational needs of university students for writing education. We analyzed 99 responses to the questionnaire. Frequency analysis, technical statistics, t-test, F-test, the Borich Demand Formula, and the Locus for Focus Model were used as methods for the questionnaire analysis. The results of this study are as follows: First, the basic class learners of H University were classified into four types, focusing on learning motivation and self-control, after which the needs of each group were analyzed. As a result, the demand for Type 1 was high in the order of texting and outline writing, while those of Type 2 was high in the order of outline writing and topic writing. In addition, the demand for Type 3 was high in the order of subject matter and paragraph writing, whereas type 4 was high in the order of conception and SNS writing. Second, the demand for writing in the basic class of H University was high in the order of “overview writing,” “writing reports,” “writing paragraphs” and “writing essays.” Based on the results of this study, we proposed the development of a program that can produce a good overview in writing education, strengthen correction guidance, and introduce media-use writing.

본 연구는 대학교 글쓰기 교육을 실시함에 있어서 교육의 실수요자인 대학생들의 교육적 요구를 반영하기 위해 실시되었다. 글쓰기 교육에 필요한 기초반 대학생들의 학습유형을 도출하고, 유형별로 교육 요구도를 조사 및 분석함으로써 향후 교육현장의 글쓰기 교육에 필요한 시사점을 도출하였다. 이를 위하여 학습유형에 대한 설문지, 글쓰기 교육에 대한 대학생의 교육요구도 조사를 위한 설문지를 제작하였다. 그리고 설문지에 응답한 99명의 응답지에 대하여 분석하였다. 설문지 분석방법으로는 빈도분석, 기술통계, t-검정, F-검정, Borich 요구도 공식 및 The Locus for Focus 모델을 사용하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, H대학의 기초반 학습자를 학습동기와 자기통제를 중심으로 네 가지 유형으로 분류하고 각 집단별 요구도를 분석하여 보았다. 그 결과 제1유형에서는 글다듬기, 개요쓰기 순으로, 제2유형에서는 개요쓰기, 주제정하기 순으로 요구도가 높게 나타났다. 그리고 제3유형에서는 주제정하기, 문단쓰기의 순으로, 제4유형에서는 구상하기, SNS 글쓰기 순으로 요구도가 높았다. 둘째, H대학 기초반의 글쓰기 관련 요구도를 보면 ‘개요작성’, ‘보고서 쓰기’, ‘문단 글쓰기’, ‘논증문 쓰기’의 순으로 요구도가 높았다. 이러한 연구 결과를 토대로 글쓰기교육에 있어서 개요 작성을 잘 할 수 있는 프로그램의 개발, 첨삭지도의 강화, 매체활용 글쓰기 등의 도입 등을 제안하였다.
