The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of participation in intergenerational programs and classes on the intergenerational units of the family, society and culture, economy, and politics, and to discuss the directional implications for intergenerational education in schools based on the results. We conducted an online survey of students from four high schools located in North Choongchung Province. Of 389 participants who responded, 216 who reported participating in intergenerational programs and classes were analyzed using SPSS Amos 22.0. First, the adequacy of the structural equation model (SEM) was shown by fit indices of χ2=1341.035 (df = 83, ρ = .000), RMSEA = .058, GFI = .901, TLI = .897, CFI = .903, NFI = .915, meeting all criteria and supporting the hypothesis that participation in intergenerational classes and programs affects all four intergenerational units. Second, participation in both intergenerational classes and programs caused significant changes in the level of recognition during the integration of generations in the family and in society and culture. Therefore, it is vital to actively review ways to include intergenerational contents in the regular education curriculum. It is also necessary to prepare a space for different generations to create a positive relationship or interact with each other through programs that focus on experiences that reflect the needs of all generations.

본 연구는 세대통합 관련 수업과 프로그램 참여 경험이 세대통합성의 영역인 가족, 사회·문화, 경제, 정치 영역에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지를 검증하고, 이러한 결과에 비추어 학교에서의 세대통합 교육이 어떠한 방향으로 나아가야 하는지에 대하여 시사점을 제시하는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위하여 본 연구는 충북에 소재한 4개 고등학교 학생을 대상으로 온라인으로 조사를 실시하였으며, 총 응답자 389명 중 세대통합성 수업과 프로그램 참여 경험이 있는 것으로 응답한 216명의 응답을 Amos 22.0으로 최종 분석하였다. 분석결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 세대통합 관련 수업과 프로그램 참여 경험이 세대통합성의 4개 영역(가족, 사회·문화, 경제, 정치)에 영향을 미칠 것이라는 가설모형을 분석한 결과, 구조방정식모형의 적합도는 χ2=1341.035(df=83, ρ=.000), RMSEA=.058, GFI=.901, TLI=.897, CFI=.903, NFI=.915로 모든 기준을 충족하였다. 둘째, 세대통합성 관련 수업 참여 경험과 프로그램 참여 경험 모두 가족에 대한 세대통합성 인식 수준, 그리고 사회·문화에 대한 세대통합성 인식 수준에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 학교 정규 교육과정에 세대통합 관련 내용을 반영하는 방안이 적극적으로 검토할 필요가 있으며, 모든 세대의 요구가 반영된 체험 중심의 비교과 프로그램을 통하여 세대 간 긍정적 관계형성이나 세대 간 상호작용을 위한 장을 마련할 필요가 있다.
