In this study, this study was conducted to find out the current status of the effect of major selection motivation on the level of major satisfaction and career decision for students in the department of security and other majors. In order to achieve the research objectives, the subjects of this study were college students at Y and K universities located in Gyeonggi-do, among the subjects of the bodyguard related department. The analysis of the data used the Window SPSS 23.0 program.The conclusions that analyzed demographic characteristics frequency analysis, reliability analysis, validity analysis through exploratory factor analysis, difference verification between background variables and factors, and correlation analysis between variables are as follows. First, intrinsic motivation was found to have a positive (+) significant effect on major satisfaction among sub-factors of major selection motivation. Second, extrinsic motivation was found to have a positive (+) effect on major satisfaction. Third, intrinsic motivation was found to have a negative effect on the career decision level among the sub-factors of major selection motivation. Fourth, extrinsic motivation was found to have a positive effect on the career decision level. Fifth, intrinsic motivation was found to have a significant negative effect on career decision level among sub-factors of major selection motivation, and extrinsic motivation was positively influenced on career decision level. As a result of this research, it will contribute to empirical data that can be used for career guidance and career counseling in universities, and to provide basic data in career decision making for security related major students.

본 연구에서는 경호 관련학과 및 다른 전공학과를 다니고 있는 학생들을 대상으로 전공 선택동기가 전공만족도 및 진로결정 수준에 미치는 영향에 대해 현황을 알아보기 위하여 연구한 것이다. 연구목적을 달성하기 위하여 본 연구의 대상은 경호관련학과의 대상 중 경기도 지역에 위치해 있는 Y대학과, K대학에 대학생들을 대상으로 하였다. 자료의 분석은 Window SPSS 23.0 프로그램을 사용하였으며 인구통계학적 특성 빈도분석, 신뢰도분석, 탐 색적 요인분석을 통한 타당도 분석, 배경 변인과 요인간에 차이검증, 변수간의 상관관계 분석 등을 분석한 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 내재적 동기는 전공선택동기의 하위요인 중 전공만족도에 정(+)의 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 외재적 동기는 전공만족도에 정(+)의 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 내재적 동기는 전공선택동기의 하위요인 중 진로결정수준에 부(－) 의 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 외재적 동기는 진로결정수준에 정(+)의 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 다섯, 내재적 동기는 전공선택동기의 하위요인 중 진로결정수준에 부(－)의 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났고, 외재적동기는 진로결정 수준에 정(+)의 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구의 결실로 대학에서의 진로지도와 진로상담에 활용될 수 있는 경험적인 자 료로 이바지할 것이며 경호관련 전공학생들의 진로결정을 하는데 있어 기초 자료를 제공 하는데 있다.
