The purpose of this study is to explore the requirements for the institutional settlement of counseling for recovering gambling addiction in the context of the Korean situation, through the training course of KangwonLand Addiction Care Center(KLACC)'s peer mentoring program conducted in 2018-19. For this purpose, based on the Case Study posposed by Yin (2003), KLACC's development and utilization process was analyzed at the program level, program participants level, and community level. The results of this study showed that the program was well developed as a peer counseling course. At the participants level, the program had a positive impact in terms of self-identity and change of daily life, but at the community level, it was clear that institutional measures needed to be strengthened in order to perform as a recovery (peer) counselor. The conclusions and implications of theoretical, policy, and practice level were presented, along with the achievements and limitations of this study.

본 연구에서는 강원랜드 중독관리센터(KangwonLand Addiction Care Center: KLACC) 가 실시한 2018-19년 동료상담사 양성과정 사례를 통해 한국적 상황과 맥락 속에서 도박중 독 회복자 상담이 제도적으로 정착되기 위한 요건들을 탐색적으로 고찰하고자 하였다. 이러 한 연구 목적을 위해 사례연구방법(Case Study)을 토대로, KLACC 동료상담사 양성과 활용 과정을 프로그램 차원, 프로그램 참여자 차원, 지역사회 차원에서 분석하였다. 연구결과, 2018-19년 동료상담사 양성과정은 도박중독 회복을 위한 양질의 상담 프로그램으로써 발전 가능성을 확인할 수 있었다. 한편, 참여자들은 이 과정을 통해 도박중독 회복자로서 자기 정 체성을 구축하고 일상생활에 변화를 모색하였지만, 회복자상담사로서는 개인적 내지는 지역 내 사회문화적 요인들로 인해 어려움을 겪는 것으로 나타났다. 결론에서는 회복자 상담제도 의 조기정착을 위해서는 ‘프로그램의 완성도를 높이기 위한 지속적인 개발’, ‘상담사의 자질 과 전문역량 강화’, ‘양성과 활용에 있어 체계적인 준비’가 필요함을 함의와 함께 제시하였다.
