With the advent of the 4th Industrial Revolution, the size of the information security industry is expected to continue to increase. Despite its relatively short history, the domestic information security industry has secured competitiveness through rapid development. However, systematic support for the information protection industry is needed to cope with the rapidly changing global market environment and secure sustainable growth engines. Developed countries such as the United States, the United Kingdom, Japan, and Israel have recently pushed ahead with the development of new technologies with a focus on startups. In this regard, this paper proposes a method for activating information security investment suitable for Korea, with a focus on startup companies. To this end, this study analyzed the current status of investments in the information security industry at home and abroad, derived improvement measures using exploratory techniques such as surveys and FGI, and finally suggested ways to revitalize information security investment. These findings can be used as important policy data in establishing the strategy of fostering the information security industry.

4차 산업혁명 시대의 도래와 함께 정보보호 산업의 규모는 지속적으로 증가할 것으로 예상된다. 국내 정보보호 산업은 그 비교적 짧은 역사에도 불구하고 비약적인 발전을 통해 경쟁력을 확보하였다. 그러나 향후 급변하는 세계 시장의 환경에 대처하고 지속적인 성장 동력을 확보하기 위해서는정보보 호산업에 대한 체계적인 지원이 필요하다. 미국, 영국, 일본, 이스라엘 등 선진국은 최근 스타트업을 중심으로 신기술 개발을 많이 추진하고 있다. 이에 본 논문은 스타트업 기업을 중심으로 우리나라에 적합한 정보보호 투자 활성화 방안을 제안하고자 한다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 국내외 정보보호 산 업 투자 현황을 분석하였고, 설문조사 및 FGI 등 탐색적 기법을 이용하여 개선방안을 도출하였고 최 종적으로 정보보호 투자 활성화 방안을 제시하였다. 이러한 연구결과는 정보보호산업육성 전략을 수 립하는데 중요한 정책자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.
