The purpose of this research is to confirm a mediating effect of interpretation bias of positive social events in the relationship between internalized shame and social anxiety. This thesis starts on the assumption in research that internalized shame shows two different bias when the one takes a positive evaluation: accepting the evaluation as a favor or suspicious about other’s authenticity. In order to get a result, I did a survey targeting 160 adults of men and women living in Seoul, in terms of Liebowiz Social Anxiety Scale(LSAS), Disqualification of Positive Outcomes Scale(DPSOS), Discounting of Positive Event Scale(DPES) and Internalized Shame Scale(ISS). Through the collected data, this thesis analyzes the correlation analysis of each measurement variable and a mediating effect of interpretation bias of positive social events in the relationship between internalized shame and social anxiety. As a result, in th relationship between internalized shame and social anxiety, a mediating effect of the interpretation bias of doubting the authenticity of the positive evaluation not significantly predicted the severity; but a mediating effect of the interpretation bias that others favorably evaluated oneself significantly predicted the severity. Finally the implication and limitation about this research are discussed.

본 연구의 목적은 내면화된 수치심과 사회불안의 관계에서 긍정적인 사회적 상황에 대한 해 석편향의 매개효과를 확인하는 것이다. 본 연구에서는 내면화된 수치심이 긍정적 사회적 상 황에 대한 해석 편향 중 긍정적 평가에 대한 액면가 요인 인 ‘상대방이 호의적으로 평가한 것이라는 해석편향’ 그리고 ‘상대방의 진정성을 의심하는 해석 편향’ 두 가지 해석편향을 각 각 매개로 하여 사회불안에 영향을 줄 것이라고 가정하였다. 이를 확인하기 위해 서울시에 거주하고 있는 성인 남녀 160명을 대상으로 Liebowiz 사회불안 척도, 긍정적인 사회적 결과에 대한 가치절하 척도, 긍정적 사건에 대한 평가절하 척도, 내면화된 수치심 척도를 사용하여 설문조사 하였다. 수집된 자료를 통해 각 측정변인 간 상관분석과 내면화된 수치심과 사회불 안 관계에서 긍정적인 사회적 상황에 대한 해석편향의 매개효과를 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 내 면화된 수치심과 사회불안의 관계에서 ‘상대방의 진정성을 의심하는 해석편향의 매개효과’는 유의하지 않았으나 ‘상대방이 호의적으로 평가한 것’이라는 해석편향의 매개효과는 유의한 것으로 나타났다. 끝으로 본 연구의 시사점 및 제한점에 대하여 논의하였다.
