The purposes of this research is to understand the religious view which serves as a philosophical background and to distinguish the world created by God that are ingrained in the early childhood education for forest and ecology. Also, the research explores on the purpose of childhood education for forest and ecology from a Christian point of view and suggests possible directions. We have analyzed annual status, research target, research material, and research method based on 168 dissertations and 37 domestic journal articles: 205 articles in total related to early childhood education for forest and ecology spanning from 1996 to 2019 to-day. Firstly, as for the annual dissertation status from 1996 to 2019, Buddhist and other religious researches have been conducted the most and research from a Christian view has been very insufficient. Secondly, as for the dissertation research targets, most of them were children and the next was literature. This shows the need to diversify by researching targets such as teachers, parents, and institutions which are major role models for education. Thirdly, as for the dissertation research materials, more basic research than action research has been conducted by a slight difference. Among those, more basic research from a Christian view than action research has been conducted but even then, there are only a few that discusses Christian philosophy. Consequently, basic researches focusing on Christian philosophy should be done in depth. Fourthly, as for the dissertation research method, Buddhist and other religious research have used various methods such as qualitative, literature, and mixed methods research—not just quantitative research. On the other hand, Christian-related dissertations were small in number but focused on literature. Therefore, research method from a Christian view should be more diversified from just literature to experimental research, survey study, culture technological research, case study, and etc.

본 연구는 숲ㆍ생태 유아교육의 철학적 배경이 되는 종교관에 대한 연구 동향을 분석하여 숲ㆍ생태 유아교육에 대한 기독교적 관점의 연구가 얼 마나 이루어졌는지 파악하고 향후 논제를 위한 기초자료를 제공하는 것 이 목적이다. 이를 위해 1996년부터 2019년 현재까지 이루어진 숲·생태 유아교육과 종교 관련 학위 논문 168편과 국내 학술지 논문 37편, 총 205편을 대상으로 연도별 현황, 연구대상, 연구 내용, 연구 방법 등을 분 석하였다. 그 결과 첫째, 숲ㆍ생태 유아교육과 종교 관련 논문의 연도별 현황은 1996년 이후 2019년 현재까지 불교 및 기타 종교 관련 연구가 가장 많이 연구되었고 기독교적 관점에서의 연구는 매우 미흡하다. 따라 서 기독교적 관점에서의 연구가 요구된다. 둘째, 숲ㆍ생태 유아교육과 종교 관련 논문의 연구대상은 유아 대상 연구가 가장 많았으며, 그 다음 은 대부분 문헌을 대상으로 연구가 이루어졌다. 이에 교육의 모델링이되는 교사 및 부모와 교육기관 등 다양한 대상에 대한 연구가 필요하다. 셋째, 숲ㆍ생태 유아교육과 종교 관련 논문의 연구 내용은 기초연구가 실천연구보다 근소한 차이로 조금 더 연구되었다. 이 가운데 기독교적 관점에서의 연구 내용은 기초연구가 실천연구보다 더 많이 이루어졌으 며, 세부내용에서 기초연구 가운데 기독교 철학에 대한 연구가 매우 적다. 따라서 기독교적 철학을 기저로 한 기초연구가 보다 심도 있게 이루 어져야 한다. 넷째, 숲ㆍ 생태 유아교육과 종교 관련 논문의 연구 방법으 로는 불교 및 기타종교 관련 학위논문은 양적 연구뿐 아니라 질적 연구, 문헌연구, 혼합연구 등 다양한 연구 방법들이 시도되었으며 기독교 관련 논문은 양은 적으나 주로 문헌연구 중심이었다. 그러므로 기독교적 관점 에서의 연구 방법은 문헌연구뿐만 아니라 실험연구, 조사연구, 문화 기 술적 연구, 사례연구 등 다양한 연구가 이루어져야 한다.
