The purpose of this study is to establish factors key in the development of faith competence instruments to measure the effectiveness of the Church education programs. We explore competence theory to construct sub – factors. Competence is appropriate to measure the effectiveness of Church education programs. Because competence is enhanced with high academic achievement and a highly competent learner is confident that he can succeed. High self-confidence leads to high academic achievement. This study integrates and combines faith and competence together and acts as a tool to measure the effectiveness of Church education programs. Faith competence consists of individual internal factors and external environment factors according to the areas where competence appears, as well as emotional, cognitive, and behavioral factors according to activity type. The highest level of competence is composed of 6 sub – factors, and based on this, we defined the competence of the faith as operational.

본 연구는 교회교육프로그램의 효과성을 측정할 수 있는 신앙유능감 척도 개발을 위한 하위 요인을 구성하기 위해 수행되었다. 하위 요인을 구성하기 위해 먼저 일반유능감을 이론적으로 탐색하였다. 일반유능감은 학습자가 학업성취 상황에서 높은 수준의 결과를 얻었을 때 강화되며, 일반유능감이 높은 학습자는 학업상황에서 성공할 수 있다는 높은 수준의 자신감으로 인해 불안 및 게으름이 감소하여 높은 수준의 학업성취를 이끌어 낸다. 이에 교회교육프로그램의 효과성을 측정할 수 있는 도구로 사용될 수 있다. 이에 본 연구는 신앙과 일반유능감 요인을 복합적으로 통합하였다. 신앙유능감은 유능감이 발현되는 영역에 따라 개인 내적 요인과 외부 환경 요인으로 2요인이 구성되었고, 활동의 유형에 따라 정서, 인지, 행동으로 3 요인이 구성되었다. 최종적으로 6개의 하위요인으로 구성하였으며, 이를 토대로 신앙유능감을 조작적으로 정의하였다.
