[Purpose] The purpose of this study is to directly compare the relationship between Quiet eye duration(QED) and putting performance using hierarchical regression analysis. [Method] 5 individual players from each so called experts and novice group participated in the experiment. Each players participated in putting tasks 60 times, 30 times for both uphill and downhill inclination conditions. The eye movements were analyzed by using the eye movement tracking system thus QED was calculated. The accuracy and consistency of the golf putting were calculated by analyzing the radius error and the bivariate variable error, respectively. Hierarchical regression analysis was performed using all measured data. [Result] The SD of QED and QED were shown statistically higher in experts than novice. As a result of hierarchical regression analysis, it was shown that the interaction variables of expertise and QED had a significant effect on the accuracy of putting. Experts group showed the tendency of decrement in the mean radius error with longer QED, and novices group showed the tendency of increment in the mean radius error with longer QED. On the other hand, the interaction variables of proficiency and QED SD did not significantly affect the consistency of putting. [Conclusion] From the results of this study we found out that the relationship between QED and performance accuracy can vary depending on expertise. We also discussed the necessity of research on the consistency of QED, although it did not yield a meaningful result. Finally, we suggest the utility value of hierarchical regression analysis in the QED study.

[목적] 본 연구의 목적은 위계적 회귀분석을 활용하여 Quiet eye duration(QED)과 퍼팅 수행 간의 관계를 직접적으 로 비교하는 것이다. [방법] 숙련자, 비숙련자 각 5명이 실험에 참가하였으며, 모든 대상자들은 오르막, 내리막 경사 조건에서 각각 30회씩, 총 60회 퍼팅 과제를 실시하였다. 안구 움직임 추적 장비를 사용하여 시선 행동을 분석, QED 를 계산하였으며, 골프 퍼팅의 정확성과 일관성은 각각 반경오차와 이원변량가변오차를 산출하여 계산하였다. 측정 된 모든 자료를 활용하여 위계적 회귀분석을 실시하였다. [결과] 숙련자는 비숙련자보다 QED와 QED의 표준편차가 통계적으로 크게 나타났다. 위계적 회귀분석 결과, 숙련성과 QED의 상호작용 변수가 퍼팅의 정확성에 유의미한 영 향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 즉, 숙련자는 QED가 길수록 평균반경오차가 감소하는 경향성을 보였고, 비숙련자는 QED가 길수록 평균반경오차가 증가하는 경향성을 보였다. 반면에 숙련성과 QED 표준편차의 상호작용 변수는 퍼팅 의 일관성에 유의미한 영향을 미치지 않았다. [결론] 본 연구 결과를 통해 QED와 수행의 정확성 간의 관계가 숙련 성에 따라 다를 수 있다는 것을 알 수 있다. 또한 비록 유의미한 결과를 도출하지 못하였지만 QED의 일관성에 대한 연구의 필요성도 논의하였다. 마지막으로 QED 연구에 있어서 위계적 회귀분석의 활용 가치를 제안하였다.
