According to a survey conducted by Ministry of Health & Welfare in 2014, about 5 percent of Koreans are disabled people. Although encephalopathy and physical disabled people travel with aids like wheelchair, their mobility rights are still restricted in subway because of stairs, thresholds, slopes. Seoul Metro tried to solve the inconvenience fixing travel route for disabled people. Seoul Metro introduced guide signs as solution. However, most of guide signs are not standardized. In addition, there are many types of signs which is not considering disabled people’s level of eye, location. This makes them feel uncomfortable such as delay in get into and off, transfer. Their mobility rights are not considered like this. Especially disabled people who use aids, they deserve to be respected as a human. To guarantee the mobility rights, public institution have to make a plan for improving systems and check facilities in subway stations. Therefore, purpose of this study is inspiring awareness about the mobility rights for the disabled who use aids, suggesting sign standards suitable for the people.
