Recently, there have been growing interests on entrepreneurship especially for young people in Korea. However, there have not been many Korean studies different from the articles published in other countries. In this article, we introduce a new construct, regulatory focus, to the literature of entrepreneurship. The regulatory focus theory has been applied to the research on psychology and marketing. We examine the relationships among regulatory focus, entrepreneurial orientation, entrepreneurial motivation, and entrepreneurial intention of Korean college students. The study results are as follows. First, promotion focus has a positive effect on entrepreneurship, economic and non-economic entrepreneurial motivations. Second, entrepreneurship positively affects both economic and noneconomic entrepreneurial motivation. Inaddition, consistent with previous studies, in addition to economic entrepreneurial motivation, non-economic entrepreneurial motivation does affect entrepreneurial intentions of Korean college students.

최근 국내에서 대학생들의 창업에 대한 관심이 점점 커지고 있는 추세이다. 하지만, 해외에서 발표된 연구와 차별화된 국내 실증연구는 그렇게 많지 않다. 본 연구에서는 창업분야 실증연구 분야에 새로운 변수인 조절초점을 소개하였다. 조절초점이론은 심리학과 마케팅에서 많이 연구 되고 있으나 아직 창업분야에 적용된 실증연구가 많지 않다. 본 연구에서는 국내 대학생들의 조 절초점성향, 기업가지향성, 창업동기, 창업의지 사이의 관계를 조사, 분석하였다. 연구의 주요 결 과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 촉진초점은 기업가지향성, 경제적 창업동기 및 비경제적 창업동기에 정 (+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 기업가지향성은 경제적 창업동기 및 비경제적 창업 동기 모든 변수에 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 또, 선행연구와 마찬가지로, 경제적 창업동기와 비경제적 창업동기는 국내 대학생들의 창업의지에 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나 타났다.
