The objective of this paper is to examine the military application of commercial drone. Based on the model presented in ‘The Singular Impact of Drone Business’, commercial drones were classified by autonomous flight ability and information gathering ability, and then military application field was suggested with the operation area of UAV. First, the tasks of the defense sector are divided into five functions, and the functions of the unmanned system are identified in each function. Next, after reclassifying by applying the four criteria proposed in the commercial drones analysis model, we proposed a field that can use commercial drones in the military. This study will be useful for reviewing the military application of commercial drones.
한국어
본 연구의 목적은 상용드론의 군사적 활용방안에 대해 분석하는 것이다. ‘드론 비즈니스의 충격’에서 제시된 모델을 기반으로 상용드론을 자율비행능력과 정보수집능력으로 분류한 후, 무인기의 작전영역과 연계하여군사적 활용분야를 제안하였다. 먼저 국방분야의 임무를 크게 5가지 기능으로 구분하고 각각의 기능에서 무인체계의 활용영역을 식별하였다. 다음으로 상용드론 분석 모델에서 언급된 4가지 기준을 적용하여 분류한 후, 상용드론을 군사적으로 활용할 수 있는 분야에 대해 제안하였다. 본 연구를 통해 요즘 급부상하고 있는 상용드론의 국방분야 활용방안 검토시 활용이 가능할 것으로 판단된다.
