This study is a case study on the form of research report analyzing the defense procurement policy and arms procurement system in the UK. The study was carried out with the aim of deriving some implications that could be applied between the defense procurement policies of Korea through the policy acquisition, defense industry related policy, system and organization research in the UK As a European military power, the UK has developed and acquired the core technologies of the defense weapon system. Recently, it has been pursuing defense procurement policies consistently by establishing basic procurement and technical advocacy defense and security strategies. Based on the research on defense acquisition and procurement system of the UK, it can contribute to the development of the acquisition business management field of our military if it is applied to the defense contracts related to domestic defense contracts and defense costs related to defense cost.

본 연구는 영국의 국방획득 정책과 무기체계 조달 관련 제도를 분석한 연구보고 형태의 사례논문이다. 영국의 국방획득과 방위산업 관련 정책, 제도, 조직 관련 연구를 통해 우리나라 방위사업 정책 추진 간에 적용할 수 있는 시사점을 도출하기 위한 목적으로 연구를 진행하였다. 영국은 유럽의 군사 강대국으로서 국방 무기체계 핵심기술을 자체적으로 연구개발하여 획득하였고, 최근에는 공개조달과 기술우위 국방 및 안보전략 기본방침을 수립하여 일관성 있게 국방획득 정책을 추진 중에 있다. 이러한 영국의 국방획득 및 조달 제도에 대한 연구를 바탕으로 국내의 국방계약과 방산원가 관련 방위사업 정책에 활용하여 적용한다면, 우리 군의 획득 사업관리 업무분야 발전에도 이바지할 수 있을 것으로 판단되는 바이다.
