The purpose of this study is to identify the effectiveness of the program by examining the satisfaction level of the students who participated in the overseas science museum exploration camp at the university affiliated Education Center for the Science Gifted. The subjects of this study were 21 middle school students attending the Education Center for the Science Gifted of Gongju National University, who were selected after the first round of document evaluation and the second round of interviews. These students, along with Japanese and Singaporean students, participated in the 4-days camp, where the students were put to a group investigation of exhibition at Nagoya Municipal Science Museum in Japan, visited the Momorial Museum of Nobel Prize winners at Nagoya University, attended school classes at the Nagoya University affiliated secondary school, and presented a free research project prepared in advance. The study found that the participants’ satisfaction level with the program was very high, and the group research activities with foreign students conducted at the Science Museum not only led to a higher interest and understanding of scientific principles of the exhibition, but also had a positive influence on the improved global mind and the ability of collaboration and international exchange. However, the presentation of the research project prepared in advance by each country appears relatively unsatisfactory due to the lack of understanding of the other students, and needs improvement measures.

본 연구의 목적은 대학 부설 과학영재교육원의 해외 과학관 탐구 캠프에 참가한 중학교 과학영재학생들을 대상으로 프로그램에 대한 만족도를 조사하여 프로그램의 효과성을 밝히는 것이다. 연구 대상은 공주대학교 과학영재교육원에 재학 중인 중학생 중 캠프 참가 희망자를 대상으로 1차 서류 접수와 2차 면접 과정을 거쳐 선발된 21명이다. 이들 학생들은 일본(80명), 싱가포르(10명) 학생들과 함께 일본 나고야시과학관 전시물 조별 탐구, 나고야대학교 노벨상 수상자 헌정기념관 견학, 나고야대학교 부설 중등학교 수업 참가 및 국가별로 사전에 준비한 자유탐구과제 발표 등 3박 4일 일정의 캠프에 참여하였다. 연구 결과 프로그램에 대한 참가 학생들의 만족도는 매우 높게 나타났으며 과학관에서 진행된 외국 친구들과의 조별 탐구 활동은 전시물의 과학적 원리에 대한 관심과 이해는 물론 글로벌 마인드 향상과 협업을 통한 국제교류능력 향상에도 긍정적 영향을 미쳤음을 알 수 있었다. 다만, 나라별로 사전에 준비해 온 탐구과제 발표는 상대 학생들의 이해부족으로 만족도가 상대적으로 낮게 나타나 개선책이 요구된다.
