There have been many historical studies on the Mongol Invasion since the Edo period. Among its wide variety of historical sources, the most important and typical one is “MokoShuraiEkotoba,” a set of two illustrated scrolls. However, has this valuable material been studied deeply and precisely? That does not seem to be the case. I would like to re‐examine the scrolls accurately in this report. (1) The man in the sea near Shikanoshima Island: This man has been said to be a Mongol soldier, but actually he was a retainer of TAKEZAKI Suenaga, or could be Suenaga himself. (2) The destination of Suenaga’s battleship, which had left Iki‐no‐matsubara (Nish Ward, Fukuoka City), was supposed to arrive at by six in the evening: It has been said that the ship headed for Takashima Island, but in reality for Shikanoshima Island. Takashima Island is 150 kilometers away, so it would take three days for the ship to arrive at. They could not have reached there by six in the eveningof the day.
