This is to study about the directions to promote the man's dignity and world peace through the ideology of 'Hongik in'gan'. This ideology not only respects, above all, humanism(人本主義), but emphasizes on the principle of mutual respect(相互尊重), equality(平等), peace(平和), and harmonious cooperation(和合) for human prosperity as the commonwealth ideology(大同主義). It is a very significant study for the modern people to find the wisdoms from a time-honored traditional ideology in oder to solve current problems. Therefore, this study, above all, examines the ideological goal of 'Hongik in'gan'; next, researches the origin of the man's dignity and world peace from the ideology of 'Hongik in'gan'; and last, proposes to activate the education of democratic citizenship, to participate the international systems, to support the world peace and security, up hold the democratization, and to build up the cooperative system for the Korean re-unification, as the directions to promote the man's dignity and world peace.
