- The Pragmatics meaning function of proverb comes from a variety of language expressions, which is different from the usual usages in our living. Most of the vocabularies in proverbs are colloquial and basic. The structural characteristics of them are combined with similarity and proximity among the words, naturally making figurative expressions. The semantic features of those words are closely connected with our living and easy to understand. The primary function of proverb, which is to explain the situation simply and clearly, comes from 4 features, such as of influence, situation, reflection, and literature.
