The purpose of this study was to examine the structural relationships among workaholism, emotional exhaustion, and family strength. To put it concretely, this study tested the mediating effect of emotional exhaustion on the relationship between workaholism(working compulsively and working excessively) and family strength. Data were collected from 486 staffs who were working in healthy family support centers by questionnaires. The results indicated that working compulsively and working excessively were positively related to emotional exhaustion and were not related to family strength. And emotional exhaustion was related to family strength. Also, emotional exhaustion mediated the relationship between working compulsively and family strength, and the relationship between working excessively and family strength. Based on these results, implication of this study for correction welfare and workaholism(working compulsively and working excessively) reduction plans were suggested.

본 연구의 목적은 일중독, 감정고갈, 가족건강성 간의 구조적인 관계를 검증하는 데 있다. 좀 더 구체적으로 일중독이 가족건강성에 영향을 미치는 과정에서 감정고갈이 매개역할을 수행하는지를 알아보는 데 있다. 이를 위해 건강가정지원센터에 재직하고 있는 직원들을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하여 총 486명의 유효 응답자료를 분석에 사용하였다. 분석결과, 일중독(강박적 업무수행과 과도한 업무수행)은 감정고갈에 정적 영향을 직접 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 일중독(강박적 업무수행과 과도한 업무수행)은 가족건강성에 유의한 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 감정고갈은 가족건강성에 부적 영향을 직접 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 일중독(강박적 업무수행과 과도한 업무수행)이 가족건강성에 영향을 미치는 과정에서 감정고갈은 매개역할을 하는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 마지막으로 분석결과를 토대로 이 연구의 교정복지적인 함의와 일중독 감소화 방안을 제시하였다.
