The purpose of this study was to design and develop a technology-supported instructional system for language learning. The instructional system was designed to encourage students to actively participate in the learning process by providing students with a learning environment which is flexible, individualized, interactive, and efficient. The contents are composed of listening, reading, speaking, grammar, drills, games, pronunciation, and reading comprehension for the beginning and intermediate levels. The interaction facilities of the instructional system consist of four components: help, bulletin board, announcements, and e-mail. The user interfaces are differentially provided to each of the user groups. This system has been successfully integrated into the existing curriculum and has been currently used in the language courses. Furthermore, the effectiveness of the system is to be examined.

본 연구의 목적은 언어 교육을 위한 테크놀로지 지원 학습 시스템을 설계 및 개발하는데 있다. 본 학습 시스 템은 유연하고 개별화되며 상호작용적이고 효율적인 학습 환경을 제공하여 학생들이 학습 과정에 능동적으로 참여할 수 있도록 설계되었다. 학습 콘텐츠는 초급 및 중급 과정으로 분류하여 듣기, 읽기, 말하기, 문법, 드릴, 게임, 발음 및 독해력 등 여덟 부문으로 각각 구성하였다. 본 시스템의 상호작용 기능은 도움말, 게시판, 공지사 항과 이메일로 구성되어 있다. 사용자 인터페이스는 사용자 그룹에 따라 차별적으로 제공된다. 본 학습 시스템 은 언어교육과정에 적용하여 활용되고 있으며 향후 시스템의 효과성을 검증하고자 한다.
