Application of MI-NPS Digital Factory Methodology for Production Ability Improvement and Optimal Layout Design : Applied Case to Vehicle Shaft Manufacturing Line
This study is aim to develop serial-processes of various alternatives for improvingproduction ability and designing optimal layout including machine layout and resonable material handling system based on the 4M (Man, Machine, Method, Material) analysis and to verify the reliable application to the actual field. In this paper, as a case study, we demonstrate an applied example of the practical technology of intelligent digital factory in a real vehicle shaft manufacturing line. By utilizing the MI-NPS Digital Factory Methodology, we can increase production ability and decrease waste of material handling as a result of solving the existing problems. Also, 3D simulation is performed to confirm the validity of elicited results. Collectively, we effectively develop various alternatives for an optimal layout and reasonable material handling system. Furthermore, we expect to build up the efficient production system dealing with changes in 4M and production schedule.
