By dividing the agendum of the humanities city “The humanities discourse for making the hope of Mokpo, a home port in the archipelago” into three parts, the identity, the diagnosis and the prescription, the contents of the program, etc. were taken a look at. First, in the part of “Mokpo, a home port in the archipelago”, the problem of the humanities identity of Mokpo was diagnosed. And, in the part of “Making a hope for Mokpo”, the gloomy reality of Mokpo was diagnosed. And, while presenting a humanities prescription regarding that, the direction for 'making a hope' was presented. And, in the part of “The humanities discourse”, a program that took place for 2 years (2015 and 2016), which had been proceeded with through the humanities city project of Mokpo, was introduced. Meanwhile, the project team of the humanities city Mokpo has been endeavoring for the management of a program that suits the realization of “Making a hope for Mokpo, a home port of the archipelago”. Naming the title of a humanities academy program, which had been proceeded with 24 times a year, as “The humanistic academy for making a hope for Mokpo, a home port in the Archipelago” and the repeated exposures of the title in the source books, the placards, etc. were a part of the efforts. Also, the management of the open lectures in which the students freely discuss as the last lectures in the former and latter parts at the humanities academy in the year 2016 was from the intention to identify with the identity pursued by the Mokpo humanities city project together.

목포 인문도시의 어젠다 <다도해의 모항 목포의 희망 만들기 인문담론>을 세 파트로 나누어 정체성, 진단과 처방, 프로그램 내용 등을 살펴보았다. 먼저 <다 도해의 모항 목포> 파트에서는 목포의 인문정체성의 문제를, <목포 희망 만들 기> 파트에서는 목포의 암울한 현실을 진단하고 그에 대한 인문처방을 제시하면 서 ‘희망 만들기’의 방향을 제시하였다. 그리고 <인문담론> 파트에서는 목포 인 문도시사업을 통해서 진행한 2년간(2015, 2016)의 프로그램을 소개하였다. 그간 목포 인문도시 사업단은 <다도해의 모항 목포 희망 만들기>의 실현에 부응하는 프로그램을 운영하기 위하여 노력해 왔다. 년 24회 진행한 인문아카데 미 프로그램의 타이틀을 <다도해의 모항 목포의 희망 만들기 인문아카데미>라 명명하고 자료집과 프랑카드 등에 반복적으로 그 타이틀을 노출시켰던 것은 그 노력의 일환이었다. 또한 2016년 인문아카데미에서 전･후반의 마지막 강좌를 수 강생들이 자유롭게 토론하는 열린 강좌로 운영한 것 역시 목포 인문도시 사업이 추구하는 정체성을 함께 공감하기 위한 의도에서였다.
