Knowledge sharing is seen as one of the essential processes for knowledge management. A growing number of professionals have started social media (SM) platforms and use this tool to share their ideas. It is important to explore ways to encourage individuals to contribute personal knowledge and to assist SM members to share their expertise. This paper offers a new perspective(a multiple gaps model) on the mechanisms related to the sharing knowledge, which in turn facilitates SM platforms knowledge sharing behaviors and yields important implications for understanding knowledge sharing behavior in SM platforms. The aim of this research is to determining and examining the factors that may encourage and enhance the knowledge sharing behavior using SM platforms. To achieve the objective of this research, we have conducted questionnaire survey with the users, where 265 questionnaire were distributed of in the various university in Korea. The results from the survey indicated that, 10 out of the 11 proposed hypotheses are supported. These hypotheses are the crucial factors that influence the knowledge sharing behaviors of users.
