The purpose of this research is to explore the inner and external experience that adolescents go through in the process of career exploration. The analysis incorporated a qualitative research method of Consensual Qualitative Research (CQR) to explore 15 cyber counseling cases written and posted by the youth attending secondary school in 2010. Analysis of the content of the cyber counseling cases differentiated 4 domains and 14 categories. The 4 domains entail the following reasons: desiring to be a singer, obstacle factors in career decisions, promotion factors in career decision making, and efforts in the process of career exploration. The analysis identified major content that included the surrounding recognition of the client's musical ability, the client's positive experiences with music, the client's views about becoming a singer, and the reasons for wishing to be a singer as important factors in hoping to become a singer. In addition, analysis of the obstacle factors in the adolescents' career decisions indicated that adolescents are experiencing a number of inner factors, including their lack of ability in music, lack of will to practice to become a singer, conflicts with family members, and conflicts related to studies and academic attainments. Economic factors related to the adolescents and negative feedback for youth who become singers were obstacle factors for the youth. On the other hand, promoting factors in deciding upon a career to be singer were the youths' psychological experience with positive emotions when singing a song and strong commitment to become a singer. Finally, this study confirmed that the endeavoring behaviors of the youth wanting to be singers in the process of career exploration were: conducting practical actions, setting career plans, and requesting information to become singers. The findings of this research will provide some useful information for understanding in depth an adolescent’s experience in wanting to be a singer and setting effective directions and intervention skills when counseling students considering this career decision.

본 연구는 가수 관련 진로를 지망하는 청소년들이 진로탐색 과정에서 겪는 내적 경험을 알아보고자, 청소년 사례 15개를 합의에 의한 질적 연구 (CQR: Consensual Qualitative Research) 방법으로 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 최종적으로 가수를 지망하는 이유, 진로결정의 장애 요인, 진로결정의 촉진 요인, 진로탐색과정에서의 노력이라는 4개 영역과 14개 범주로 결정되었다. 자료 분석을 통해서 다음과 같은 주요 내용들이 확인되었다. 가수를 지망하게 된 이유 영역에서는 내담자에 대한 주변 인정이나 음악에 대한 긍정적 경험, 그리고 가수에 대한 내담자의 견해가 가수를 지망하는데 중요하게 작용한 것으로 나타났다. 진로 결정의 장애요인 영역을 살펴본 결과, 내담자들이 음악에 대한 재능 부족과 실천의지 부족 등과 같은 내적인 요인과 부모님의 진로 반대 및 가족분위기 등과 같은 가족구성원과의 갈등, 그리고 학교 및 학업관련 갈등을 경험하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 경제적 요인과 내담자를 향한 주변의 부정적 조언도 내담자가 진로를 결정하는데 장애요인으로 나타났다. 또한, 가수라는 진로를 결정함에 있어서 작용하는 촉진요인으로는 노래를 부르면서 느끼는 긍정 적 심리경험과 가수에 대한 확고한 의지가 중요한 요인으로 확인되었다. 마지막으로, 가수를 지망하는 내담자들이 진로탐 색과정에서의 노력으로는 가수가 되기 위한 실천행동, 진로계획수립, 가수가 되기 위한 정보요청으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 최근 진로 영역에서 중요하게 인식되고 있는 연예인 지망 청소년 관련 문제를 보다 구체화하여, 가수지망 청소년들이 진로결정 과정에서 겪는 경험을 영역화하고, 내적 경험을 세밀하게 탐색하였다는 점에서 의의를 지닌다. 본 연구의 결과는 가수 지망 청소년들의 내적 경험을 이해하는 기초자료로서 청소년 진로 상담에 있어서 효과적인 방향 및 개입전략을 설정하는데 유용한 자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.
