The purpose of this study was to examine the trend of internet addiction research. For this purpose, An analysis of the research published in the Korean Journal of Psychological Association for a 15-year(2000-2014) period was conducted. A total of 71 articles were analyzed with regard to research objects, research subjects, research method and related variables subdivided. The results of this study were as follows. Internet addiction related study has been published from 2001. The number of articles published has been increased every year. Common research objects were elementary, middle and high school students. Main research subject were the related variables, process of internet addiction, development internet addiction scale, intervention straties of internet addiction. Quantitative research method has been used mainly, most research methods used for this studies quantitative approaches were ANOVA-related or multiple regression-related statistical analytic methods. Related variables falled under the individual variable, Social-environment, internet trait related variable. The contents was impulse, parent-child communication, peer relation. This study discussed the limitation of this study and the direction of future research.

본 연구는 인터넷 중독과 관련한 심리학적 연구동향을 알기 위해 실시되었다. 이를 위해 “한국심리학회지”에 2000년부터 2014년 10월까지 게재된 총 71편의 논문들을 대상으로 연구대상, 연구주제, 연구방법, 통계방법을 분석하였고, 관련변인에 대하여 세분화하는 작업을 하였다. 분석한 결과, 인터넷 중독 관련 연구는 2001년부터 발표되기 시작하여 매년 증가하는 추세를 보였고, 대부분 초·중·고학생(75%)을 대상으로 연구되었고 대학생과 성인이 25%였다. 연구주제는 관련변인에 대 한 연구가 50.7%로 가장 많았고, 다음으로는 척도개발 및 검증과 중독과정에 대한 연구가 각각 15.5%로 많았으며 프로그 램 개발 및 효과검증은 14.0%로 나타났다. 이에 반해 개관 및 이론연구는 2.8%이고 실태연구는 1.4%로 상대적으로 적게 연구되었다. 연구방법으로는 질적연구 4%에 비해 대부분 양적연구(87.3%)로 이루어졌으며, 양적통계분석에서는 회귀분 석 또는 변량분석이 68.1%를 차지해 많이 사용된 것으로 나타났다. 관련변인으로는 개인변인에 대한 연구가 50.0%로 가장 많았으며 사회·환경적변인 32.0% 인터넷 특성관련변인 16.7%순으로 나타났고, 그 내용으로 가장 많이 다루어진 것은 충동성과 부모-자녀의사소통, 또래 및 친구관계변인이었다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 본 연구의 제한점과 추후 연구 방향을 제시하였다.
