The objective of the study is to investigate directions of entering China to strengthen competitiveness of Taekwondo departments. For this, the study selected 2 professors from 4-year Taekwondo departments and 2 Chines experts in Taekwondo for in-depth interviews, and the result is as follows: First, as for global capacity for strengthening competitiveness of Taekwondo departments, it was revealed that enhancing Korean national prestige, improving the status of Taekwondo and concluding MOUs with universities and Taekwondo-related organizations in China were expected. Second, in terms of the overseas employment rate for strengthening competitiveness of Taekwondo departments, restructuring curricula of Taekwondo departments, linking with internship programs and nurturing global talents were emphasized. Third, when it comes to Taekwondo college entrance examination for foreigners to strengthen competitiveness of Taekwondo departments, developing regular seminars and training programs, providing Chinese on website of Taekwondo departments and preparing dormitories for foreigners and language education are necessary. In the future, Taekwondo departments need to disseminate the right value of Taekwondo at home and abroad and produce global talents who would lead the future of Taekwondo with creative thinking. Especially, China that is located in the same Asian region and has close accessibility to Korea is expected to become a very useful case in the study.

이 연구는 태권도학과 경쟁력 강화를 위한 중국진출의 방향을 살펴보는데 그 목적이 있었다. 이를 위해 4년제 태 권도학과 교수 2인과 중국 태권도 전문가 2인을 선정하여 심층면담을 실시하였고, 다음과 같은 결론을 도출하였다. 첫 째, 글로벌 역량 부문에는 대한민국의 국위선양, 태권도의 위상제고, 중국의 대학교 및 중국 내의 태권도 관련기관과 MOU체결이 기대된다. 둘째, 해외 취업률 부문에는 태권도학과 교육과정의 개편, 인턴십의 연계, 글로벌 인재 양성에 주목해야 된다. 셋째, 외국인 입학전형 부문에는 정기적인 세미나 및 교육 실시, 태권도학과 홈페이지에 중국어 탑재, 외 국인들을 위한 기숙사 및 어학교육 마련되어야 한다. 앞으로 태권도학과는 국내뿐만 아니라 세계적인 무대에서 태권도 의 가치를 올바르게 전파하고, 창의적인 사고를 기반으로 하여 태권도를 선도해 나갈 글로벌 인재를 양성해야 한다. 특 히 우리나라와 같은 아시아권에 위치하고 있으며, 거리적으로 가까워 접근성이 용이한 중국시장은 그 활용가치가 매우 유용할 것으로 전망된다.
