In the construction of high-rise buildings and long-span structures, reinforcement ratios can be comparably reduced by using high-strength steel bars to ordinary strength re-bars. Additionally, reinforcement spacing in a member can be eased by using high-strength re-bars that will not only lead to the improvement of constructability but also reduce the construction time and simplify the connection details. In the present study, among the various reinforced concrete structures, an apartment building with bearing wall which resists vertical-horizontal load at the same time has been analyzed to verify the economic feasibility by using high-strength re-bars. Apartment building appeared to be least effective in terms of reducing reinforcement ratios when comparing with the other structures. This is because of the insignificant quantity reduction effects of walls which account for more than 50% reinforcement of the total. Higher economic feasibility can be expected by using high-strength reinforcement that reduces the reinforcement ratio and also minimizes the workload on reinforcement placing and shortens the construction periods. In conjunction, with the reasonable spacing of reinforcement, enhanced constructability and improved framework quality can be expected.

초고층 및 장경간 구조물의 시공에서 고강도 철근을 사용할 경우 기존의 일반 강도 철근에 비해 배근량을 감소시킬 수 있다. 또한 부재에서 배근 간격에도 여유를 줄 수 있어 시공성 향상, 공기단축, 접합부 상세가 간소화 되는 장점이 있다. 철근콘크리트 구조물 중 수직 및 수평 하중을 동시에 저항하는 내력벽식 아파트를 선정하여 고강도 철근 사용에 따른 경제성 분석을 수행한 결과, 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 다른 구조물에 비해 아파트의 철근량 저감 효과가 가장 작은 것으로 나타났는데 이는 물량 감소효과가 미미한 벽체가 전체철근량의 50% 이상을 차지하고 있기 때문이다. 고강도 철근사용에 따라 감소된 철근에 의한 철근배근 작업량 감소와 공기단축, 적정한 배근 간격 확보로 인한 시공성 증진 및 골조 품질 향상 등의 효과를 고려한다면 경제성의 효과는 더욱 클 것으로 평가된다.
