In this paper, various circumstances of “ha” special alternation of “Xha-” from middle Korean language to modern Korean language are to be evaluated, and the trend is organized to determine how the trend of “ha” special alternation in modern Korean changes. For this, the trend of “ha” special alternation of some sample words in middle Korean language and modern Korean language and the trend of “ha” special alternation in each endings were organized to check the difference between middle Korean language and modern Korean language. Through this, it was found that the words without the “ha” special alternation are composed of [N+다]v or [NP 다]vp, that the “ha” alternation is not relevant to native word, Chinese character, or independence of the roots of words, and that the portion of alternation trend may vary due to ending. Moreover, it was found that the trend of “ha” special alternation was weakening in modern Korean language, and that the trend of “ha” special alternation was expanding to other endings without bridging vowels in manuscript materials of modern Korean language.

본고의 목적은 중세국어에서 근대국어에 이르기까지 ‘X-’의 ‘’가 특수 교체 되는 환경과 그 양상을 정리하며, 근대국어에서는 ‘’ 특수 교체 양상이 어떻게 달라지는지 고찰하는 것이다. 이를 위해 중세국어와 근대국어에서 대표적 어사 몇 개의 ‘’ 특수 교체 양상과 어미별 ‘’ 특수 교체의 양상을 정리하고, 이를 바탕으로 중세국어와 근대국어에서 어떠한 차이가 있는지를 비교하였다. 이를 통하여 ‘’ 특수 교체를 보이지 않는 어사들은 [N+다]v, [NP 다]vp의 구성을 가질 수 있는 것들이고, ‘’ 특수 교체는 어근의 고유어, 한자어, 자립성 여부와 관계없이 수의적으로 일어나며, 어미에 따라 ‘’ 특수 교체의 비율이 달라질 수 있음을 밝혔다. 또한 근대국어에서 ‘’ 특수 교체의 세력이 점차 약화되어 근대국어 후기로 갈수록 ‘’ 특수 교체의 비율이 점차 줄어들지만 몇몇 필사본 자료에서는 ‘’ 특수 교체가 매개모음을 가지지 않는 여타의 어미들로 확대되고 있음을 밝혔다.
